Rosie Siemer opened a boutique store, Sitting Bull 4 years ago in the far western NSW town of Broken Hill, in already tough circumstances, with the region two years into a drought.
Sitting Bull was born from a noticeable gap in the market for higher quality, young men’s clothing. Introducing new brands to the market that were “a little bit country, but younger” – clothes that would appeal to young men looking for something more affordable yet fashionable than what was readily available.
Rosie is passionate about promoting business sustainability in regional areas and is an advocate for small business in Broken Hill & Far West NSW.
Her creation of a local Facebook page, Our Hill Is Not Broken, targeted at local business advertising, has not only given local business owners another platform to promote their services, but has encouraged the shop local objective in the region.
A 2021 member of the NSW Small Business Commission Reference Group, Rosie endeavors to advocate for small business in Regional Australia.
